Project Administrator

Based in Kanata for the next year and then in Chalk River for 3 years. The successful candidate will apply exceptional organizational and administrative skills to help the project site team operate efficiently and productively in support of overall operations.

 Job Duties:

  • Support the site project team in day-to-day administration including document control, tracking maintenance, invoicing and general administration tasks
  • Accurately prepare and submit timesheets
  • Track purchase orders and ensure coordination with Edmonton office
  • Organize and maintain digital and physical project files
  • Support HR, HSE, Quality personnel as needed
  • Support travel, lodging, and logistical administration as needed

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience working in an administrative capacity
  • Construction and/or general contractor experience considered an asset
  • Prior experience in related to document control required
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate team members
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) with proven ability to learn new software programs quickly
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal relations, with ability to gain trust and respect of others and build relationships
  • Keen attention to detail and high standards for work produced
  • Willingness and flexibility to take on a wide variety of tasks
  • Ability to work on remote sites if needed

Project Controls Lead

Based in Kanata for the next year and then in Chalk River for 3 years. The successful candidate will apply exceptional organizational and project controls skills to help the project site team operate efficiently and productively in support of overall operations.

Job Duties:

  • Establish regular project controls routines and publish and maintain a monthly project controls calendar.
  • Develop and maintain project controls procedures and ensure compliance with established project controls procedures and routines
  • Provide technical assistance, mentorship and guidance to Project Controls Coordinators
  • Identify high-potential candidates for advanced project controls training
  • Other duties as requested.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10 years of project controls experience in roles of progressively increasing responsibility
  • Demonstrated experience as a Project Controls Manager on a major project
  • Expert knowledge in cost, scheduling, forecasting, risk management and reporting
  • Extensive experience in Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Performance Measurement
  • Well conversant with Productivity Analysis, development and reporting on KPIs for construction and engineering projects
  • Well conversant with EVMS principles, baseline development, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) dictionary, cost and schedule performance reporting, change control, variance analysis, corrective action development, basis of estimate, and charge number mapping
  • Strong interpersonal skills to achieve results as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to analyze processes and impacts, provide recommendations and develop solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
